FAQs
What do I wear during a Float Session?
Your Birthday Suit! (AKA, Nothing). This ensures, not only, that your float experience is optimal but that our float pools stay free and clear from any bacteria or dyes that can enter our pools via swimsuits or clothing. Remember, the goal of Floating is to de-stimulate and experience sensory deprivation. Clothing can be distracting and over-stimulating for many. Your Birthday suit is the best way to Float!
I can’t swim… do I really Float?
Let us put it this way - There is no way you can’t float, no matter your size or ability to swim. Each pool contains a minimum of 1,400 pounds of epsom salt dissolved in 2 inches of water. That amount of salt makes our pools more buoyant than if you were floating in the dead sea.
Can I Float with a friend
or Spouse?
We now offer Couples Floats, so YES! You can Float with a friend or spouse.
What kind of Epsom Salt do you use in your Float Pools?
We use Magnesium-Sulfate Based Epsom Salt!
What is the temperature of the water in your Float Pools?
94 Degrees Fahrenheit with an infrared heat panel below the Float Pool.
How do you keep the Float Pools clean?
You know how the Dead Sea is well, dead? (Like, nothing can live in it?). That is because there is sooooo much salt. The same goes for our Float Pools! The overabundance of epsom salt makes it nearly impossible for bacteria to survive. On top of that, the water is filtered through a two-micron filter for 20 minutes between each float session. We use environmentally safe cleaning products to sanitize and disinfect all
the float room surfaces after each float session, as well.
Can kids use the Float Pools, as well?
They sure can! With a parent present
in the room, kiddos can gain all the benefits of floating, too.
Will Floating dry out my hair and skin?
The epsom salt from floating will actually clarify your hair and exfoliate your skin! Win, win! Throw some of our sea salt spray (found in our get-ready room) in your hair after you float for a naturally “beachy” look. As for your skin, magnesium is naturally antimicrobial and antibacterial, so floating can actually help with skin irritations (like eczema and psoriasis).
Do you accept HSA/FSA Cards?
In short, yes. Our Point of Sale System for our Floats + Fire & Ice + Sauna is set to accept these cards. However, we cannot control the parameters your card sets on spending. We suggest that you check with your card company before use!
How often should you Float? Can you “Over Float”?
Float therapy is one of the quickest ways to work towards a calm mind + body. In the beginning, people often float 1-2 x per week and gradually move towards a once a month session. However, there is no such thing as too much of a good thing with Floating. You can float as often as your body needs, especially during times of high stress or physical demand.
Can I Float while Aunt Flo is visiting?
You absolutely can, with proper hygiene. The rule of thumb is - If you wouldn’t go swimming, wait to float.
I have a bun in the oven, can I Float?
Our pregnant friends just might be the ones that love floating the most. Of course, always check with your doctor first but floating can be an excellent way to give your body a break from housing that mini person.
What are the Benefits of Floating?
Epsom Salt contains Magnesium and we could all use more Magnesium. Magnesium is a mineral that helps aid in relaxation, aids in lowering blood pressure, decreasing anxiety and depression, decreasing inflammation, decreasing chronic pain and joint pain, aids in muscle recovery, and improves sleep. In short, it helps to calm and restore your nervous system.
